At first, an HR Specialist from Infosys called me and we went through my job experience and skills briefly. After this first step, I had a technical interview where an Indian colleague assessed my IT skills. It was pretty tough; for more than 1 hour I had to give examples and definitions on different IT topics such as SQL, web application and Object-Oriented programming. The last interview was again with the HR Specialist and was focused mainly on myself, my thoughts and motivation, why I was interested in Infosys, why I was willing to move abroad and what values I could bring to the company, for example.
My daily activities range from having meeting with clients and the Technical team, to administrating the client’s CRM system used by the Italian Sales Representatives. Being the Admin of CRM, I perform several activities on the application such as insert, update or delete any info or data which the business needs. Further, I am seen as a bridge between the business team and the technical team so any requests or concerns are analyzed and translated by me.
The main challenge we face is in translating a high level request to a clear and concise description to the technical team, and vice versa. Furthermore, the response time is an important factor which sometimes challenges us, since the CRM system is used by the whole Italian Sales Field force, and in some cases we have to provide a swift and accurate resolution to the client at the earliest possible time. Keeping in mind these factors and putting the business needs first, we have been able to achieve very good results, which can be seen in business appreciation and compliance to the client’s regulations almost 100%.
What trainings did you undergo at Infosys and how has your career developed?
We have a large variety of trainings here in Infosys which range from languages to soft and technical trainings. I have attended some of them and I had the opportunity to improve and sharpen those skills which more fit my desire and were focused on my job area. Just to name a few, I had English training, SQL and Excel training along with Stress and Time management training.
